School Choice

Parents are the primary educators of their kids. This duty has a corresponding right: the right to choose where their kids go to school, and the type of education they’ll receive. The right to parental choice in education, or “school choice,” should be supported by public policy–or at the very least, not hindered.

School choice is not only a matter of parental rights–it’s a requisite of economic justice. Wealthy students have school choice, but too many kids from low-income families living in bad neighborhoods are trapped in failing public schools. No child should be denied a good education because of their zip code or socioeconomic status.
